( Personality ) :
Odd is not enough to describe the individual known as Amaimon, otherwise known as The Earth King and one of the demon princes of Gehenna. He is the source of much trouble in the series he comes from, but that does not stop him from being a quite interesting and sometimes laughter inducing individual. Most of his personality revolves around his childlike nature, which, by itself, makes Amaimon a person demon led by his emotions and what he feels like doing at the time. It also leads to him seeming like a harmless, odd boy with a lax pose and a hungry craving for food, but fast forward a bit, and he can turn into a spiteful, powerful killing machine with a distaste for defeat.

He detests losing with a passion, and hates leaving matters unsettled even more, going to extremes to get his revenge on whoever it was that bested him, actions which unfortunately resulted in his untimely demise in the series. He has quite the homicidal appetite, constantly stating along the series that he felt like killing someone as if it was the most casual thing in the world, and only being stopped due to his brother, Mephisto, ordering him to refrain from doing so.

His relationship with his brother shows that, despite being a demon, Amaimon is capable of holding respect and loyalty toward someone else, as well as being able to form strong bonds, as when he was killed by Rin, he shouted for his brother with his last breath, to no avail. Never having been around humans and spending most of his life in Gehenna, he is not what someone would call socially apt, as he is, in fact, pretty much the opposite of it, showing somewhat unsettling and sometimes disturbing behavior both in a casual environment and outside of it.

An example includes mind controlling Shiemi Moriyama, and nearly making her kiss him to consummate his pseudo-marriage request, which was brought on to infuriate Rin Okumura, and after very casually stating that he has no further use for her, he might as well take one of her eyes to bring to a cousin in Gehenna, who collects them. However, when he is not occupied being oddly disturbing or in a homicidal mood, the brighter side of his character is revealed, showing that, just like a young person the age his body would reveal, Amaimon is an extremely curious individual, to quite the extent. This is shown after his arrival to Japan, when he informed himself on the country, and used his brother’s infinity key to travel everywhere and explore it, acquiring quite a hefty collection of souvenirs along the way, one of which was an item highly sought after by his brother.

Whether he bought it for him on purpose is unknown, but he had no qualms with letting his brother have it. In fact, he has no qualms with just about anything, as, all in all, he shows himself to be quite the laid back person demon, who might sometimes be found lazying about town, sitting upside down on a lamp post eating an octopus treat. Despite this laid back side of him, however, he is not to be underestimated under any circumstances, as his killing instincts are sharp and more than ready to be put to use should the opportunity arise.

( Strengths/Weaknesses ) :
Strengths:

Amaimon is a very powerful combatant, possessing super human strength, with which he is able to knock a person very far away simply with the flick of his finger, and being able to manipulate the earth to some extent, as his title indicates.

He is scrappy and unscrupulous, to an extent. For example, in his fight against Rin he took advantage that he had his tail out, as it is a very weak point, which was a bit of a low blow.


Weaknesses:

Amaimon is led by his emotions, which leads to him charging head on into things that may potentially hurt him/affect negatively if he is not restricted by someone, often his brother, Mephisto.

He considers himself very strong, and while he is right, this leads him to underestimate his opponent and get his tush handed to him in a silver platter, as was the case with Rin.

He lacks everything there is to know about social interaction, which can affect him negatively should no one be accompanying him.
